hi i work in the service industry here at one of the hottest night spots in town & i have a major problem with the way some people here do not have the courtesy or money to tip. if you are broke do not come to my restaurant and have me do things like fill your water bring your meals out hot and take orders down for the kitchen. im on my feet all day and all night and sometimes people come in like they are doing me a favor leaving a shitty tip & even have the nerve to look me in the eye when walking away

i came from new york and i know people here have a bit of a hatred for that city i do too its not a nice place to live. in NY though i always got the best tips from everyone. people here seem to think the standard is like 15 or 18 but its not. 20 percent or go home. how does it feel when ur robbing someone of their cash???

do you realize waitresses only get LESS THAN minimum wage. that means u have to tip us or else we are making an illegal amount of money. think about that next time you dont give a real tip.

think about the hard work we do next time you decide to get stingy. broke ass tricks.

I didn't say that *you* personally are a poor server. I was agreeing with the above poster that it annoys me that the public is expected to tip grandiose amounts for service that is often sub par.

And it seems to be that you need a few etiquette lessons yourself - creating a journal exclusively to come on a community and flip out on people isn't exactly the most polite thing you could do.

If your tone and attitude on here are a reflection of your work product, I seriously question the quality of your work.
